Don't worry though, golf will be back on your screens in just over two weeks' time again with the Sentry Tournament of Champions in Hawaii. Until then, there is much to ponder golf-wise over the Christmas break, and much to look forward to in 2018. Next year, is a Ryder Cup year, of course, and excitement is really building ahead of next year's match between Europe and the United States. The Americans have an excellent team, as proven by their performance in the 2017 President's Cup, but they have failed to win in Europe since 1993. Thomas Bjorn's European side won't be going down without a fight at Le Golf National in Paris. Shane Lowry concluded 2017 this week with another second place finish alongside Graeme McDowell at the QBE Shootout on the PGA Tour, and his late season form, as well as the amazing progression of Paul Dunne, means that a few Irish representatives could join Rory McIlroy on next year's Ryder Cup team.
