Yet, there is still something off with its current placing on the European Tour schedule. Three of the top four players in the Race to Dubai rankings, Rose, Garcia and Rahm, missed the event in Sun City. This should not happen for the European Tour's Final Series and they left Tommy Fleetwood with a big advantage heading to Dubai next week. The European Tour have now gone from Spain to China to Turkey to South Africa to Dubai over the space of five weeks. After a long year for dual PGA Tour and European Tour players, it is no surprise that one week in South Africa before back to the Middle East is not an attractive proposition. As a result, the Nedbank Golf Challenge might not get the field that it deserves.
